Becky (hoi!) is a fellow Leeds University student who welcomed me to see how she is getting on with her own Netherlands' adventures in Utrecht. She was an extremely accommodating host to my little trip, and I have decided to rate and review the city she kindly guided me around.
Top is a map of The Netherlands with a handy arrow pointing to Utrecht (Source: Visit-Turkey.com), and to the left are photos from Becky's blog; her halls (a building of bridges - Cambridgelaan), canals (I cut her boyfriend out of the photo - soz Alex), and the Dom Tower (Domtoren) in the city centre. Photos are small, much like Utrecht itself. Below is Becky with a map (lost? Source: Anna Babic's Facebook)
AND THOUGHTS
Dutchness: Cobbled streets, loads of international and Dutch students (who seemed pretty slammed when I spoke to them on Thursday early evening. I only questioned them for directions but they told me all about their night of fighting - LADS?), canals, and good coffee (specifically here)
Is het leuk? Echte leuk! Students like to slam (esp. those in Cambridgelaan Halls), there is a large tower to walk up, and its like someone has placed Rotts' kooky architecture together with the canals and 'cute' Dutchess from Amsterdam... creating some sort of small, beautiful wonderland
Out of 10: 8. The 'wonderland' boasts sick second-hand stores. I got a brilliant waistcoat.
THANKS FOR HAVING ME BECKY
